About this event

The Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Railroad (WK&S) runs its Pumpkin Patch Train from Kempton Station in Kempton, Pennsylvania, on a short ride to the WK&S Great Pumpkin Patch. The operator stresses that the event is for everyone: children, parents, grandparents, couples and families, and that adults choose a pumpkin right along with the kids.

At the patch the train stops, passengers get off, pick their own pumpkin and board again for the return to Kempton Station. Back at the station, riders choose from a variety of decorating kits to dress up the pumpkin before taking it home, and one of the railroad's witches hands out a treat as passengers get off the train.

The Pumpkin Patch Train is a special-event ride, separate from the railroad's regular scheduled Sunday trains.

What to expect

A train ride of about 45 minutes from Kempton Station to the WK&S Great Pumpkin Patch, where riders get off, choose a pumpkin and re-board. Back at the station you can pick a decorating kit for your pumpkin, and everyone gets a treat from the WK&S witches when they get off the train.

Practical info

The train leaves from Kempton Station, 42 Community Center Drive, Kempton, Pennsylvania. Reservations are suggested.
