About this event

The Everett Railroad runs its Pumpkin Patch Train Ride as a family-friendly fall excursion from its Hollidaysburg station near Altoona, Pennsylvania. A steam-powered train carries passengers through the Pennsylvania countryside to the Kladder Pumpkin Patch on an eight-mile round trip with a 20-minute layover at the patch.

At the patch, ticketed guests choose a pumpkin to take home, enjoy apple cider and a cookie, use a pumpkin decorating kit, try pumpkin bowling and a mini maze, and pose for seasonal photos. The operator offers coach seating and upgraded First Class options with table service and an exclusive seasonal menu of specialty beverages and snacks.

What to expect

A one-hour round trip behind a steam locomotive, with a 20-minute layover at the pumpkin patch. Each ticket includes a pumpkin, apple cider, a cookie and a pumpkin decorating kit; pumpkin bowling, a mini maze and photo spots are on offer. Coach cars have windows that open and all cars are heated in cold weather. Dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes, since the patch is outdoors.
