Mance, Pennsylvania — Sand Patch Grade Crossing

This camera, run by ACME Cinematography, watches the Mance Road grade crossing on CSX's Keystone Subdivision — the former Baltimore & Ohio's Sand Patch Grade — at milepost 207.89, elevation 2,078 ft, between Cumberland, Maryland (MP 178) and Connellsville, Pennsylvania. The crossing sits beside the historic Mance Post Office, from which the crossing and a nearby community-run train log take their name.

The operator states the grade averages 1.94% and that CSX runs roughly 12 to 20 freight trains a day here at any hour. Trains moving left in frame are climbing westbound toward Connellsville; trains moving right are descending eastbound toward Cumberland. The stream's overlay also lists an Amtrak "Floridian" service at roughly 8:33 a.m. eastbound and 8:03 p.m. westbound — an operator-stated schedule that could not be independently corroborated and should be read as the operator's own claim, not a verified fact.
