Virtual Railfan's Covington cameras sit on the CSX Cincinnati Terminal Subdivision at milepost 662.8, just over a mile south of the Ohio River and the Cincinnati skyline. This is the Kentucky approach to one of CSX's major terminal areas, so the traffic is a mixture of road freight running through and terminal movements working in and out. The operator names what to expect: CSX freight in the form of manifests, coal and steel trains, plus Amtrak's Cardinal — the Chicago to Washington, DC train that runs three times a week and passes here overnight in both directions. Two views are published: a fixed camera facing north, free and carrying the public chat, and a fixed camera facing south reserved for Virtual Railfan members. The host is Skaats Precision Motorsports, which has carried the installation since 8 August 2023.
