About this cam
This second PTZ camera overlooks the same Union Pacific junction in Marshall, Texas as its companion unit — where the Little Rock Subdivision (toward Texarkana/Little Rock) and Reisor Subdivision (toward Longview) meet outside the Texas & Pacific depot. From this angle the view takes in a road overpass, a preserved museum caboose, and a former grain elevator alongside the curving double track.
This pan-tilt-zoom camera is the second of two SouthWest RailCams units hosted by the Texas & Pacific Railway Museum at the restored 1912 depot in Marshall, Texas (this record covers "PTZ #2"; the companion unit is "PTZ #1").
The camera looks out over the same Union Pacific junction as its companion: the Little Rock Subdivision (milepost 66.7, toward Texarkana and Little Rock) and the Reisor Subdivision (milepost 351.3, toward Longview), which meet at Marshall. BNSF holds trackage rights over the junction in addition to Union Pacific's own freight. This view takes in a road overpass and a preserved caboose from the museum's collection alongside the curving track.
Amtrak's Texas Eagle (Train #21 westbound to San Antonio, Train #22 eastbound to Chicago) makes a stop at Marshall, making this one of the few SouthWest RailCams views that regularly shows a named passenger train alongside freight.
What to watch for
Union Pacific freight, BNSF trains running under trackage rights, and Amtrak's Texas Eagle (#21 westbound, #22 eastbound) at the nearby platform. The operator's integrated radio feed monitors 161.460 MHz (AAR 090, Little Rock Sub) and 160.575 MHz (AAR 031, Reisor Sub) — listen for dispatcher and crew traffic on both subdivisions from this one camera.
