About this cam

Steel Highway Railcams streams this PTZ camera in Motley, Minnesota, on BNSF's Brainerd Subdivision, part of its Northern Transcon Railcams network. The City of Motley sponsors the camera, and the operator says it also watches Highways 10 and 210 and skate-park activities.

The operator describes an unparalleled view of train action, community events and local life in Motley. It says the PTZ camera is positioned to give a clear view of Highways 10 and 210, and that it also lets parents and grandparents watch local baseball games and skate-park activities. In its Aitkin description the operator adds that the Aitkin and Motley cameras were installed to help predict train arrivals at the Northern Pacific Center in Brainerd, a wedding and events venue.

The frame checked was taken at night, in infrared, and shows the skate park's ramps, a fence, a bench and a tree line, with the caption pointing west and a bright light at the right. No railway is visible in that frame; a PTZ camera can be turned toward the tracks.

What to watch for

BNSF trains on the Brainerd Subdivision through Motley. Because it is a PTZ camera, the view may be pointed at the tracks, at the highways or at the skate park.
