The West Somerset Railway runs 20 miles from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, the longest standard-gauge heritage line in England, and Crowcombe Heathfield is its most rural stop — a restored station with a passing loop, some way from the village it names. Railcam UK operates eleven cameras along the line in partnership with the railway. The operator lists them explicitly: "Minehead (2 cameras), Blue Anchor (2 cameras), Watchet (2 cameras), Williton (2 cameras), Crowcombe Heathfield (2 cameras), Bishops Lydeard." This is the first of the two at Crowcombe, and the operator states it is "pointing towards Dunster and Minehead". The stream overlay carries the railway's own anniversary line, "1976 - 2026 50 YEARS OF PRESERVATION".

What to watch for

Crossing moves. Crowcombe Heathfield has a passing loop, so on a two-train timetable this is where the up and down services meet — the West Somerset's GWR-liveried tank engines and its heritage diesels, with the signal box and semaphores worked by hand. Camera 2, on the same platform, gives the opposing view.
