About this event

The Autumn Adventure is the Everett Railroad's seasonal fall foliage excursion, offered during the peak foliage weeks. Guests board a restored steam-powered passenger train in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, for a 27-mile round trip to Martinsburg through the farmland, wooded hillsides and rail corridors of Morrison's Cove.

The operator says the train is scheduled to be steam-powered, with locomotive assignments that may change for operational reasons, and describes the Autumn Adventure as typically led by its historic steam locomotive, with diesel used only in rare cases. Coach seating is in historic 1920s coaches with windows that open; First Class adds table service, booths, observation seating or private-room options, and a boxed lunch.

The operator says the ride frequently sells out and that fall colour varies each year and cannot be guaranteed for a given departure.

What to expect

About two and a half hours on board, in enclosed coaches. Boarding begins about 15 minutes before departure. Coach guests may pre-order a box lunch; First Class meal and drink service depends on the seating chosen. The ride runs rain or shine and photos are welcome.
