About this event
The Foxfield Railway runs its North Pole Express from Caverswall Road Station, at Blythe Bridge near Stoke-on-Trent. The operator describes a splendid return trip of nearly one hour in festive heritage coaches to Dilhorne and back, during which passengers meet on-board entertainers such as elves, a baby polar bear puppet and Santa himself.
Everyone enjoys a festive edible treat; adults get a festive tipple and children a fruit drink, as well as a gift from Santa. First class customers get extra time with Santa in their own private compartment with extra festive decorations.
The station is festively themed and customers enter through, and wait in, the museum; wheelchair, push chair and mobility users can use the ramp. Before and after the trip there is a seasonal hot meal in the café, or a drink in the railway's bar, The Foxfield Arms, during opening hours.
Tickets are sold by the table or compartment rather than per person. The operator describes the train as a treat for the whole family or for a group of adults, with multiple departures each day.
