Railcam UK's Camera 6 looks north from Crewe Heritage Centre over the north end of Crewe station, where the West Coast Main Line splits: WCML North to the left, WCML South to the right, and the Wilmslow and Manchester lines straight ahead. It is the one Crewe camera Railcam streams free on YouTube.

About this cam

Crewe is where the West Coast Main Line comes apart into three. Railcam UK''s Camera 6, mounted at the Crewe Heritage Centre, looks over the north throat of the station, and the operator burns the geography straight into the picture: **WCML North** to the left, **WCML South** to the right, and **Wilmslow and Manchester** dead ahead under the overhead line gantries. Railcam UK Ltd runs six cameras at Crewe. Camera 6 is the only one broadcast publicly: in the operator''s own words, "Camera 6 is the default here but this stream may show the other cameras from time to time," and "Free streams are provided on YouTube as an ADVERTISMENT for what we do on Railcam." The other five, and the Crewe signalling diagram, are for subscribers. The installation is hosted by the **Crewe Heritage Centre** — Railcam thanks them explicitly in the stream description and carries their address, crewehc.co.uk, in the on-screen overlay. The stream has been running without interruption since **10 December 2025**.

What to watch for

Everything that uses Crewe''s north end, on all three routes at once — the camera holds the WCML north and south approaches and the Wilmslow/Manchester lines in a single frame, so a movement can be followed from one to the other rather than simply appearing and vanishing. Railcam''s own Crewe archive gives a sense of what turns up: their 25 March 2023 clip catches a pair of charters leaving together, led by Locomotive Services Group Class 86 No. 86101, and a Class 68 with a TransPennine Nova 3 set has been picked up on the Crewe cameras alongside Leyland and Preston. Overhead line equipment is everywhere in shot, so the electrics dominate; the camera stays on through the night, when the yard and signal lights carry the view.
