Glyndyfrdwy, Denbighshire — a passing station on the Llangollen Railway

Glyndyfrdwy station opened in May 1865 under the Llangollen and Corwen Railway and was later run by the Great Western Railway, before closing to passengers in December 1964. Volunteers reopened it in spring 1993 as part of the Llangollen Railway's preservation of the line, which now runs ten miles from Llangollen through Glyndyfrdwy and Carrog to Corwen, restored as the western terminus in June 2023.

On the single-track line, Glyndyfrdwy works as a passing point: two platforms flank a signal box that volunteers still operate by hand, including the manually worked gates over the level crossing. The station takes its name from the nearby Owain Glyndwr Memorial Hall, which commemorates the Welsh leader's early-15th-century uprising.
