Abergynolwyn station, Talyllyn Railway

Abergynolwyn station is 6.55 miles (10.54 km) from Tywyn Wharf on the 2ft 3in (686 mm) narrow-gauge Talyllyn Railway, in the village of Abergynolwyn, Gwynedd. It was the railway's original passenger terminus when the line opened in 1866-67, before trains were extended to Nant Gwernol. The timber station building dates from that 1867 opening and was built to the same design as the (since replaced) station at Pendre.

A mineral line once continued south-west from here up an incline to the slate quarry at Bryn Eglwys, which the whole railway was originally built to serve. The railway's first locomotive shed stood a quarter of a mile west of the station at Ty Dwr, chosen for its water supply; it was removed once the permanent shed was built at Pendre in 1867, though the water column remained in use into the 1950s. The platform was extended in 1976 to take two trains at once.
