Santa Steam Train — Cambrian Heritage Railways

Cambrian Heritage Railways runs a festive Christmas steam train from its Oswestry station in Shropshire, where, the operator says, families are invited to join Santa Claus for a holiday journey. The whole experience takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Before the ride, adults can relax with a complimentary tea or coffee and mince pies, and children receive a complimentary squash drink and a packet of chocolate buttons. Children can also enjoy a bouncy castle, soft play, face painting and other festive fun at the station.

The 30-minute steam train ride follows, during which children receive a quality present personally delivered by Santa. The train then returns to Oswestry, where visitors can continue to enjoy the festive station atmosphere and the shop and food and drink sales.

About 1 hour 30 minutes in all, starting at the festively decorated Oswestry station. Adults get a complimentary tea or coffee and mince pies; children get a squash drink and a packet of chocolate buttons, can use the bouncy castle, soft play and face painting, and receive a present from Santa on the 30-minute steam train ride, which returns to Oswestry.

Departs from Oswestry station, Oswald Road, Oswestry, Shropshire SY11 1RE. The operator asks passengers to arrive at least 20 minutes before their booked time.
