About this event

The Halton County Radial Railway is a full-size operating electric railway and museum in Milton, Ontario. Owned and run by the Ontario Electric Railway Historical Association, a non-profit organization, it features historic electric railcars on two kilometres of track and describes itself as Ontario's first and largest electric railway museum.

Christmas on the Rails is the museum's seasonal opening before it closes until spring. The operator describes riding the rails on vintage streetcars through the woods, with snow on the trees and Christmas carols in the air. Santa visits, roams around and sometimes even drives the streetcar to the North Pole, because, the operator says, the reindeer would hurt themselves on the railway tracks.

The streetcars, buildings and grounds are decorated for the holidays. Rides last about 20 minutes and there are usually up to four different ones to choose from.
