About this event

Seaton Tramway, the tramway that runs between Seaton and Colyton in Devon, operates THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Tram Ride on selected dates in the weeks before Christmas. The operator describes a magical tram ride to Santa's home at the North Pole in specially decorated single-deck tramcars.

On board, passengers enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie. At the North Pole they can speak to Santa and admire the lights while they walk around the North Pole, and every guest receives their first gift of Christmas, a silver sleigh bell, from Santa himself. On the return journey, passengers sing along to Christmas carols.

The operator says the experience lasts approximately two and a half hours and that seats are limited on its snug single-deck tramcars. It presents the trip as one for the grown-up kids too, a trip down memory lane to a traditional Christmas of old.

What to expect

About two and a half hours in all: a tram ride to Santa's home at the North Pole in a decorated single-deck tramcar, hot chocolate and a cookie, time to speak to Santa and walk around the lit North Pole, a silver sleigh bell for every guest, and carols on the way back. Seating on the tramcars is limited.
