About this cam

The Bluebell Railway was the first standard-gauge preserved passenger railway in the world to run a public service, and it now runs eleven miles through the Sussex Weald from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead, where it meets the national network. Railcam UK operates the camera network along the line, and the operator describes this view precisely: "Bluebell Railway East Grinstead. Platform southern end – view looking north towards the platform and boundary gate to access the national rail network." The streams are published on Railcam's Bluebell channel and carry the railway's own credit, "© Bluebell Railway", with the railway's site at https://www.bluebell-railway.com.

What to watch for

The Bluebell's locomotive fleet is the deepest collection of pre-grouping and Southern Railway engines in preservation, so what passes here is often unique — Victorian tank engines, SECR and LBSCR classes, and the railway's Maunsell and Bulleid stock. Semaphore signalling and manually worked boxes throughout.
