Virtual Railfan's Chehalis camera looks out on BNSF's Seattle Subdivision, the Pacific Northwest corridor running between Portland, Oregon and Seattle. Chehalis sits roughly halfway, which makes it one of the better places on the system to see the full mix of what BNSF runs. The operator sets out the traffic precisely: BNSF freight between Tacoma and Vancouver, Washington; Union Pacific trains operating on trackage rights from Portland to Tacoma; and Amtrak's fourteen daily trains, taking in both the Cascades corridor service and the long-distance Coast Starlight. The nearest Amtrak station is at Centralia, four miles north — trains pass Chehalis, they do not stop. Two views exist: a fixed camera facing north, which carries the public chat, and a pan-tilt-zoom camera reserved for Virtual Railfan members.
