About this cam

The channel JR山陽本線ライブ鉄道チャンネル, run by an individual, streams almost round the clock from the Yumesaki River bridge on the JR Sanyo Main Line between Himeji and Aboshi in Hyogo Prefecture. The picture stacks two views of the red steel bridge, the overhead wires and a train-position display.

According to the operator's description, the camera is run by an individual and broadcasts "almost 24 hours every day" from the Yumesaki River bridge between Himeji and Aboshi. To keep archives, the operator restarts the stream every five to eleven hours, and sometimes forgets to, so the archives cover only about eleven hours. Image glitches and signal errors happen from time to time, and serious trouble can take a while to fix.

The description gives the regular passing times of the Sunrise Seto and Izumo sleeper trains (up around 23:27, down around 05:31) and says that special transport runs, such as delivery and distribution moves, usually pass between about 01:30 and just after 02:00. The frame checked shows a red steel girder bridge across the top view, overhead wires, apartment buildings and hills, and a vertical train-position display down the left of the lower view.

What to watch for

Trains crossing the bridge day and night, and the two stacked views. The operator gives the regular passing times of the Sunrise Seto and Izumo sleepers (up around 23:27, down around 05:31) and says special transport runs pass between about 01:30 and just after 02:00, as estimates.
