About this cam
Steel Highway's camera at Grand Island, Nebraska looks out from the Hall County Historical Society's restored 1911 Burlington depot over BNSF's Ravenna Subdivision and Union Pacific's Kearney Subdivision, which run side by side through town.
The Hall County Historical Society bought one of Nebraska's last surviving Burlington depots, at 6th and Plum Streets in Grand Island, in 1999. The 1911 Prairie-style Burlington Station now hosts the society's programs and events, and this camera looks out from the property over the railroad the depot was built to serve.
The operator's description states the camera shows BNSF's Ravenna Subdivision (trains between Aurora and Ravenna) and Union Pacific's Kearney Subdivision (trains between Grand Island and Gibbon) side by side. An on-screen overlay tags the BNSF track as "Ravenna Sub — MP 96.3, upper track."
