About this cam
Seymour Trains runs this camera at 2nd Street and Indianapolis Avenue in historic downtown Seymour, Indiana, overlooking one of the state's classic railfan locations: the diamond where CSX's Indiana Subdivision (the former Baltimore & Ohio east–west line) crosses the Louisville & Indiana Railroad (the former Pennsylvania Railroad north–south line). The operator's own overlay bills the feed as "featuring Louisville & Indiana RR & CSX Indiana Subdivision at Seymour, IN." CSX trains off the Louisville & Indiana turn east here onto the ex-B&O toward Cincinnati, while the Louisville & Indiana runs through on its route between Louisville, Kentucky and Indianapolis (Avon Yard). CSX rebuilt the east–west line in 2016 for higher-speed operation, so trains can move briskly through the crossing. Everything here is freight — CSX road freights and intermodal on the Indiana Sub, plus Louisville & Indiana road trains and the regular local. A former B&O depot, now the local Chamber of Commerce visitor center, stands a block from the diamond, and a concrete grain elevator rises just south of the crossing.
What to watch for
This is a diamond, so the payoff is the crossing itself: CSX freights and intermodal on the ex-B&O Indiana Subdivision meeting Louisville & Indiana road trains and the weekday local on the ex-PRR line, one holding while the other rolls through. Watch for CSX trains coming off the L&I and swinging east toward Cincinnati. The rebuilt CSX line (2016) lets trains move quickly, and the downtown backdrop — the old B&O depot and the grain elevator south of the diamond — frames the shot. The chat regularly calls the local before it arrives.
