Traffic includes Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited, MBTA Commuter Rail, Providence & Worcester Railroad freight, CSX, and Norfolk Southern intermodal trains rerouted via Worcester from the Hoosac Tunnel line.

Worcester, Massachusetts has been a key New England rail junction since the mid-1800s, when the Boston & Albany Railroad (later New York Central, Penn Central, then Conrail, and since 1999 CSX Transportation) made it a critical stop on the line between Boston and Albany. This Railside Live camera is mounted with an elevated view toward Union Station's twin Italian Renaissance towers (opened 1911, still serving Amtrak and MBTA today) and the CSX Boston Line running below. Traffic includes Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited, MBTA Commuter Rail, Providence & Worcester Railroad freight, CSX manifest and intermodal trains, and Norfolk Southern's rerouted Chicago-Ayer intermodal trains (264/265), which now use CSX trackage rights via Worcester instead of the clearance-restricted Hoosac Tunnel route to enable double-stack service.
