About this event

The Museum Buurtspoorweg in Haaksbergen, Overijssel, runs Sint & Stoom, a Sinterklaas programme built around a steam train ride. The operator invites children to step aboard the steam train with the Pieten and visit Sinterklaas.

The programme starts at Haaksbergen station, where the Pieten greet the guests. Before the steam train leaves, children can play games with the Pieten, help them deliver the parcels and stoke the train, or show their best moves on the Pieten dance floor.

The steam train then runs to Boekelo station, where Sinterklaas is waiting and there are more activities. The journey back to Haaksbergen is also by steam train. The operator says Sinterklaas has promised a surprise for every child up to and including 12 years old, and that the programme lasts about two hours.

Places are limited on each train ride, so the operator asks guests to buy tickets in advance. The Museumkaart is not valid for this programme.
