Catanduva, São Paulo — Railway Level Crossing

Catanduva sits on Rumo's Malha Paulista freight network, in the interior of São Paulo state. The railway runs directly through the city center, and Rumo has been building viaducts, pedestrian walkways and a rail bypass (contorno ferroviário) to remove the at-grade crossings — a project that followed incidents such as soy-loaded hopper cars tipping over in downtown Catanduva.

The camera looks at one such street-level crossing, with rails embedded in the road surface and a crossing signal visible in frame. The operator's own description states that freight consists — "trens cargueiros, locomotivas e diferentes tipos de composições" — pass along this stretch of the interior São Paulo network throughout the day and night.
