About this cam

A live railcam beside the BNSF Gateway Subdivision near milepost 168 in northern California, on the former Western Pacific Highline between Clear Creek Junction and Westwood. A single ballasted track runs through conifers, with trains headed north toward Klamath Falls, Oregon, or south toward Keddie, California.

Mike Leland-Nascimento runs this camera near milepost 168 on the BNSF Gateway Sub. His description says trains going right to left are headed north toward Klamath Falls, Oregon, and trains going left to right are going south toward Keddie, California.

He adds that this is the former Western Pacific Western Division 4th Subdivision, or Highline, which connected Keddie to Bieber, California, where the Great Northern connection to Klamath Falls was made, and that the line in view, between Clear Creek Junction and Westwood, was originally part of the Red River Lumber Company electric logging line from Westwood to Chester. The picture shows a single ballasted track in front of tall pines, with a boulder beside the ballast; no train was in view when it was reviewed.

What to watch for

Trains crossing the frame left to right (south, toward Keddie) or right to left (north, toward Klamath Falls) on the single track.
