About this cam

A Railcam UK camera at Ingrow West, the first stop out of Keighley on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (KWVR) and home to two heritage museums, the Vintage Carriages Trust's Carriage Works and the Bahamas Locomotive Society's Engine Shed.

Ingrow West is the first stop travelling from Keighley toward Oakworth and Oxenhope on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (KWVR), a five-mile heritage line through Bronte Country in West Yorkshire. The current station building is not the original: after the KWVR's 1968 preservation takeover, the original structure had deteriorated too far to save, and in 1971 volunteers relocated an almost identical building from Foulridge, on the closed Colne-Skipton line, rebuilding it brick by brick at Ingrow.

Ingrow West doubles as a heritage-railway museum stop. The Carriage Works, run by the Vintage Carriages Trust, displays restored carriages, locomotives and railway equipment, while the neighbouring Engine Shed is the headquarters of the Bahamas Locomotive Society, whose collection includes a former London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) express passenger steam locomotive. A converted mainline carriage, the Learning Coach, serves as a classroom for visiting schoolchildren, funded through a National Heritage Lottery grant.

What to watch for

KWVR steam and diesel services calling at the platform on their way between Keighley and Oxenhope, and — for anyone visiting rather than watching remotely — the Vintage Carriages Trust's Carriage Works and the Bahamas Locomotive Society's Engine Shed right beside the line. The railway runs to a weekend-year-round, daily-in-summer timetable, so expect the most movements on summer days and weekends.
